About our Client - Our client is a leading manufacturing MNC based in South India. Their presence dates back more than 20 years in India with 2 robust manufacturing sites. In order to strengthen their Tax function they are looking for a Head of tax to be based in South India and lead a team of qualified professionals,

Job Description - Reporting to the APAC Tax Director and dotted line into the India Finance Head, your specific responsibilities would include:

- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely filing and payment of all Direct taxes (corporate income tax and withholding tax) and Indirect taxes (VAT/Sales Tax, Excise Tax, Service Tax, etc.) for all India operations.

- Effective strategy and management of all tax and customs audits and controversies.

- Identify and implement tax and customs related strategies and planning initiatives.

- Keep local internal customers, business partners and management informed of relevant tax law changes and related risks as well as opportunities arising there from.

- Monitor consistent application of transfer prices into and out of India.

- Ensure tax items are properly quantified, reported, and disclosed in the financial statements.

- Lead all aspects of tax related refunds and incentives (i.e. filings, profit recognition, cash collection, forecasting, etc.)

- Ensure strong tax related internal controls and lead process improvement efforts.

- Effectively lead and manage a team of 25+ tax professionals in India.

The Successful Candidate:

You are a Qualified Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of experience. Your predominant experience needs to have been in the Taxation function with a good understanding of both Direct & Indirect Tax. You are able Leader who can nurture talent and develop your team to take on larger roles. You should have lead a team of atleast 20+ individuals to qualify for this position. You should have worked in a Matrix environment and have dealt with various stakeholders either Regional or Global.
