Company:- One of the largest NBFC in India with close to 400 Branches  Designation:- Head Risk & Underwriting-LAP  Reporting to :- Management Committee  Reportees :- Zonal Heads/Regional Heads  Location :- Mumbai  Key Accountabilities  - Conceptualize and build the Risk, Underwriting and Collections strategy for the Mortgages - Loan against Property (LAP) Business.  The business is targeted to grow to a scale of INR 15000 Crs Assets under Management.  - Enable high quality growth for the Mortgages - LAP business to meet our strategic objective of 25% AUM in the next 3 - 4 years.  - Deliver a profitable Mortgage - LAP Business with ROE of 15%-18% by growing all the revenue pools and business segments of the LAP Business (Retail, Corporate, Developer and Lease Rental Discounting Business).   - Build market share of 12%-15% in each of the identified Business segments of the LAP Business in the next 3 - 4 years.  This role reports to the Management Committee which consists of President - SME Business & COO – Chief Operating Officer.  The role of the Head – Risk & Underwriting requires a deep understanding and hands on experience of mortgages in SME businesses & Self-Employed professionals, their financial statements and financial ratios as well as industry knowledge & market intelligence, to ensure that only credit worthy companies and firms are extended loans.  Risk Design and implement robust risk policies and frameworks for underwriting of Loans to SMEs & Self  Employed Professionals and building AUM of 15000 Crs in the next 3-4 years.  Key emphasis on building a diversified and a high quality loan portfolio.  Review of portfolio and key risk indicators.  Initiate Implement and Manage portfolio management programs. Develop market risk methodologies to ensure early assessment of risk for the company.  Scan the external environment continuously and re-adjust the risk management model on a proactive basis to deliver a low risk and robust portfolio.  Develop specialized analysis to ascertain portfolio performance, segmentation and new booking trends.  Closely monitor delinquencies and losses on regular basis and proactively identify and mitigate the risks associated.  Take action on items from quality assurance as and when required.  Examine documentation of credit policy to ensure new processes and procedures are updated and are in adherence.  Design and deliver the best in class market risk policies & procedures.  Credit   Underwriting of Loans to SMEs & Self Employed Professionals and building high quality AUM of 15000 Crs in the next 3-4 years.  Key emphasis on building a diversified and a high quality loan portfolio  Leading a team of subject matter experts in policy, underwriting and collections across cities delivering on time turnaround time & exceeding all quality benchmarks.  Drive ownership of internal processes & compliance with underwriting policies enabling Business & Operations in meeting the long term strategic goals of the business.  Managing credit policy design & implementation. Ensures appropriate controls and lending guidelines are in place for monthly originations.  Ensures proper compliance and audit guidelines are adhered to.  Collections  Formulate and implement a leading business – collections and underwriting –collections strategy in the company for the LAP business.  Define the collections and the legal collections ladder and ensure smooth implementation of the same.  Ensuring regular monitoring of all statutory and legal compliance requirements of the company.  Managing customer / legal escalations and regulatory issues pertaining to collections.  Design and develop robust processes and the legal collections system to automate routine affairs like notice management, arbitrations and executions.
