Opening for Head - New Product Development - Mumbai location - PVC Pipes Industry

Reporting to GM - New Product Development

Objective: To assist & manage the product development process from the concept phase to the post- launch analysis phase.

To facilitate the launch of new products as per projected time schedule.

Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for development and execution of new products.

To search for new product introduction opportunities as well as existing product modification possibilities that would meet company's growth strategy as well as customer's needs and wants.

Involvement in new product concept brainstorming meetings.

Responsible for the management of assigned products meeting/exceeding margin and sales plans.

Communicating with factories for the product specifications of proposed new product.

Coordinate with Marketing Communications strategic direction for product catalogues, new products, sell sheets, and launch programs on assigned products.

To specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research in co-ordination with sales team.

Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.

Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.

Understand competitive marketplace for assigned products and document competitive cross references.

Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field sales people and evaluating sales call results.

Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors products.

To conduct periodic meetings & reviews to check NPD progress & document the same for records.

To provide suggest on product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.

Post launch follow-up and interaction to understand & ensure customer satisfaction level.

Desired Profile:

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & MBA in Marketing from a reputed & recognised university/Institute.

Preferred Experience: 12-15 Years of experience with good product management & market knowledge as well as should have exposure in development processes and design procedures in Plastic Industry.

Age Preferences 35-42 Years

Technical Knowledge:

Knowledge of New Product introduction key steps.

Knowledge of market research and capturing unsaid wants & needs.

Strong quantitative skills like trouble shooting, analytical, competitive analysis etc.

Should have knowledge of products meeting and sales plans.

Ability to utilize primary and secondary research to identify actionable insights and to guide new product development efforts.

Ability to plan and execute new products.

Experience in handling market driven products.

Should have good liasioning skills.

Behavioural Skills:

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Ability to influence, organizing skills, zeal for continuous improvement and excellence.

Should be creative, lateral and innovative thinker.

Willing to explore ideas to make a positive impact on the organizational climate.

Ability to work under cross functional and influence them to get the desired result as per business objectives.

High energy with result driven attitude.
