Head of Media Buying with an Auto Giant

The current opportunity is with one of the most well known Global Automobile Giants.

We are looking for someone to Head the Media Buying function.

The incumbent would be responsible for development of comprehensive Media Buying & Planning Strategy for all brands of the company .Work closely with Agencies. Efficiently use a media budget > Rs.500 crore.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Agency selection for various campaigns.

- Identifying the target audience for a particular media campaign and deciding how best to communicate to that audience;

- Analyzing industry research figures, including distribution figures (newspapers and magazines) and audience figures (TV and radio);

- Creating buying strategies post analysis

- Liaising and building relationships with media sales companies;

- Negotiating with media sales companies to obtain the best rates and most appropriate media spaces in online, broadcast and print advertising;

- Liaising with media sales people to adjust media schedules in response to audience figures;

- Booking individual media spots, pages, posters, internet banners, broadcast adverts, etc.;

- Ensuring that the adverts run accurately so the desired media message is seen and heard by consumers;

- Reporting and budget management, including preparing costing and producing spending updates throughout the campaign; analyzing sales and consumer data;

- Undertaking research using a wide range of specialist media resources;

- Monitoring the effectiveness of the campaign - this data may also be used to monitor future campaigns;

Candidate Profile:

- 8-12 years of post qualification experience in Agencies and Client side handling media buying. Must have handled large media budgets (>400crore).

- Exceptional analytical skills and understanding of the relevant ratios.

- Should have the competence of spearheading the Media planning and Buying for a large portfolio.
