Person should be master of gears technologies which include turning/ hobbing/shaping/gear teeth honing/ Gear teeth grinding.  Additional preference is knowledge of heat treatment and forging .  Role: -   He/ She will be heading Engineering and Development functions of the company and will be strong pillar and competence center for the company's technical activities and will be responsible for New Product development as well as for providing engineering support to the Plant. The new product development portfolio will include transmission systems, components for fuel injections systems, Cold and Hot Forged components, other precision forged and machined components.  Key Responsibility Areas -   - Responsible for new Product Development by deciding most efficient and qualitative process and their implementation.  - To lead setting up efficient production lines achieving zero defect / Zero Breakdown/ Zero Accident and lowest cost of production.  - Provide Engg. Support for selection of machinery and ancillary equipment as part of plant setting up.  - Liaises and organizes planning with operations and project teams including any 3rd party consultants/vendors for all Engg, Support of all kinds.  - Analyzes the current and future cost saving opportunities in operations and help to reduce the cost through engg. initiatives.  - Assists the plant leadership team with the capital investment process.  - Assists purchase and project team in negotiating contracts for machineries by helping in specification and BOQ as well as giving sign off and trials of machinery.  - Document and maintains updated plans of plant and equipment as well as all Technical Documentation.  - Motivates, directs, coaches and develops a diverse, high performing team to meet established goals and build organizational capability.  - Fosters an environment that supports an engaged safety culture; determines and enforces all manufacturing safety requirements including the handling of hazardous materials in accordance with current statutory regulations and Company objectives   - Planning out for the procedures and standards of the technical and engineering work performed in the department & company.  Minimum Qualifications Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed Institute.  Minimum Experience 15-20 yrs  Industry preference  - At least 5-10 years in development of Transmission systems/ Gears and shafts in good companies  - Experience of developing and implementing Engineering systems and processes.  Competencies  Technical Competencies:  - Sound technical knowledge .  - Previous project management experience in all phases of the project cycle including previous start-up and commissioning experience.  - Knowledge of TPM will be an added advantage  Behavioral Competencies:  - Good leadership skills and a team player.  - Ability to innovate.  - Excellent Problem Solving & Analytical Skills  - Flair of excellence & Quality Consciousness of high degree  - Strong customer focus .  - Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.  - Exposure to World Class Manufacturing processes and methods.  - Flair for Innovation
