GM - Store & Material - Thermal Power

We have very urgent opening for the position of GM - store & Material in Thermal Power Industry

Qualification level, Experience & Competencies:

- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Specialized training in: Degree/Diploma in Material Management/MBA or equivalent will be added advantage.

- Years of experience: 15-17 years post qualification, Out of which 8-10 years of Experience in a Thermal Power Plant should be above 200 MW in Stores & Materials.

- Strong man manager, ability to lead & take real time decision.

- Strong in networking.

Scope of job:

- Material receipt and inspection including management of inventory in stock

- Manage proper material handling, storage, and indexation of inventory of stock items and screening of all non stock items

- Manage the transportation of material to and from other locations

- Manage material and asset insurance

- Minimization of material loss due to storage and reduction in inventory, carrying cost

- Control of slow moving and dead stock including scrap disposal

- Coordinate with all external agencies ie weights and measures, trade tax authority, explosive department, auditors, Oil companies, insurance, vendors and transporters etc

- Ensure maintenance of proper documentation in line with the defined Sops, with upto date record keeping in SAP & ERP

- Ensure timely preparation of GRN / SRV / SRN / Day book etc, including monthly reconciliation of free issue materials

- Identify and devlop vendor source for achieving cost effective purchase of equipment, accessories, local procurement of material and services .and ensure timely delivery so as to minimize project cost .

Functional Competence :

- Knowledge of custody, storage, preservation methods and packaging techniques for materials and stores management

- Understanding and capability to use IT systems for stores management

- Knowledge of implementation / preparation of DOP / SOP and Tax laws
