JOB PURPOSE:

- To support EHS Manager in creating an EHS function, fully aligned with Global EHS Standards and Local Regulatory requirements.

DIMENSIONS OF THIS ROLE:

- Capability to identify various hazards and risks associated with site operations like Health & Safety, environmental aspects & impact, hazards associated with process safety, ergonomics and chemical risks.

- Foresee adverse events and the results. Plan for mitigating all such events. Work with the teams at all levels and ensure their commitment to cause of being safe, environmentally friendly and healthy conditions at all locations of the site.

- Overall responsibility of site EHS requirements, maintain zero LTI & I status and promote ZAP reportings. Investigate minor, major incidents, develop action plan and ensure that all operations are incident free.

- Maintain communication and compliance with EHS regulatory. Pay visits with the purpose and obtain the results on compliance.

- Train and educate the site personnel on EHS requirements, standards, SOPs and the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. ( IMS )

JOB RESPOSIBILITIES:

- To support EHS Manager in creating a facility at Sonepat that is injury free, environmental friendly and ensuring the best health of all its employees including the contractors and visitors.

- To support and guide the site in ensuring the above by providing the thrust and direction to team effort to meet the requirements of GSK Global EHS standards and regulatory agencies requirements, so that the same meet the objectives and needs of the business.

- Foresee adverse events and the results. Plan for mitigating all such events. Work with the teams at all levels and ensure their commitment to cause of being safe, environmentally friendly and healthy conditions at all locations of the site.

- Investigate all kinds of incidents & near-misses, develop action plan and ensure that all operations are incident free.

- Maintain communication and compliance with ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY regulatory. Pay visits with the purpose and obtain the results on compliance.

- Train and educate the site personnel on ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY requirements, standards, Operating Procedures and the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Experience/Knowledge/Technical Skills Required:

- An engineering/ science graduate from reputed institutions with Post Diploma in Industrial Safety/Hygiene/ Environment/ Fire Safety.

- Should have hands-on experience in ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY function of a reputed organization for 1 to 8 years in process industry.

Knowledge

- Conducting Safety Audits.

- Should have fair awareness of concepts of - Process Safety- & Basis of Safety Regulatory Compliance

Requirements.

- Solid waste management,

Technical Skills

- Able to carry out Emergency response plan

- Awareness of ISO 14001

- Awareness of OHSAS 18000

- Incident Investigation and report writing.

- Know how on operations of Effluent Treatment Plant

- Audit the facility in terms ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY requirements
