GenY Medium, an angel funded, rapidly growing digital media marketing firm is looking to add an experienced business development manager to the team.  GenY Medium has over a short period of time, established itself as a leading provider of digital marketing services, specializing in social media marketing and customer acquisition campaigns. The company now has over 35 employees, most from reputed schools in India and rich professional experiences. GenY Medium has several national brands as its clients, including Max Bupa & Cigna (Healthcare), Goli Vada Pav and Creyate - Arvind, Sobha Developers (Real Estate) and NIIT, Akash (education) amongst others.   You need to be a graduate from IIT or post-graduate from IIM with minimum 1 year of experience in business development. If you have worked in a start-up that is a plus! If you were part of the initial team of the start-up that is a plus-plus!  You need to be a blue-blooded sales person who loves to sell. You need to have great communication and comprehension capability to understand our services, understand the customer's requirement and then map the two. You need to be true to a customer, truly believing that only if the customer benefits will your company benefit. You need to know and believe that business development is a scientific process with which any customer can be won; so you should hate to lose deals!  If you love setting targets and goals and then going beyond them, love making money, love taking customers away from competition, have patience to listen to a customer's issues and no patience in getting it resolved by your team, then you are just the one we have been looking for!  This is a senior level role and reports directly to the CEO and board. The role will become stronger with more number of people reporting to them as the company progresses ahead.   Desirable skills & personality traits:   Above all, the applicant should be entrepreneurial in nature, someone who is playing for the long term. A long term association with GenY Medium would be essential for this role.   We are looking at candidates who are good with people, display maturity while dealing with colleagues, clients and are great at multi-tasking. Given the nature of the industry the individual should be able to take on pressures of deadlines sportingly.   Other qualifications and experience requirements are:   - Experience: Relevant experience in marketing, branding is preferred. Understanding of marketing principles is a must.   - Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal is a must. Being able to articulate campaign ideas to clients and internal team is essential.   - Analytical Skills: A command on numbers, marketing effectiveness measurement is essential.   Compensation:  It would be modest compared to industry average (Rs. 9 lakh p.a. to Rs. 12 lakh p.a. CTC). However, this position comes with lucrative stock options, which could materialize into a significant monetary gain over time.   Those looking at this as a "stepping stone" or learning ground to prepare for other blue chip jobs are discouraged from applying.
