- Coaches others on the development and implementation of a manufacturing strategy at an organizational level
- Designs business processes to maximize customer satisfaction
- Leads others in assessing existing capabilities in the organization to determine what capabilities exist and what is needed. (e.g., Capability Study)
Consults the organization on the manufacturing strategy:
Understands the relationship between lot size, lead time, demand and quality variation in the optimum inventory level
- Evaluates materials replenishment systems for efficiency to satisfy varying levels of customer demand and inventory objectives
- Understands analysis tools such as demand variation amplification, quality filter maps, response matrix and product variety funnel
- Knowledge of late differentiation (postponement), process simulation, modeling and optimizing
- Understanding of how to develop a quality strategy at an organizational level
- Ability to execute and promote existing quality strategies
- Ability to extrapolate an organizational strategy from a global strategy
- Ability to conduct situational analysis and create a vision/mission

- Providing required resources
- Adherence to organization policies and legal requirements
- Goal setting on EOHS requirements
- Adequate training on standard and other communications
- Effective documentation and document control
- Management review
