I. Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst role performs financial planning, analysis, and reporting as part of the finance function. The role's major responsibilities include preparing/reviewing reconciliations, management reports, regulatory reports, dashboards, budgets and forecasts, various ad-hoc assignments, and analysis. Project work is also to be expected. The role requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail for a highly regarded team that focuses on accuracy and timeliness. The role should have excellent knowledge of MS Excel and good knowledge of MS Access. The role also requires effective communication skills including communicating through email and over the telephone. The role aims to support the business and its leaders, especially Senior Management, through reporting and value-added analysis and insight.

This role is differentiated from the role of a Financial Analyst in that the Senior Financial Analyst has greater responsibilities. The major additional responsibilities include leading the team when the Supervisor/Manager is not present, reviewing the work being prepared by the team and helping to ensure accuracy and timeliness, and providing the team with guidance, training, and development. The Senior Financial Analyst should be a subject matter expert and a thought leader on the team's processes and reports. The Senior Financial Analyst should also be analytical, process-oriented, and have problem solving skills.

II. Job Duties/ Responsibilities

Management Reports:

- Produce/Analyze/Review quarterly operating reports and analysis, which goes to the OC and Board

- Produce/Analyze/Review quarterly subsidiary Board reports and analysis

- Produce/Analyze/Review AUM and New and Lost Business reports

- Daily Flow Monitoring

- Analysis (Variances, Trends, Outliers, etc.)

Regulatory Reports:

- Quarterly Schedule T (part of the Call report)

- Monthly SLT

- Annual SHLA/SHCA

- Monthly Form S

Dashboards:

- Quarterly Client Profitability

- Quarterly Trust dashboard

- Quarterly RM dashboard

- Monthly Wealth Advisory report

Projects:

Sampling of current projects-

- IM Fee Project

- Regulatory Report Automation

- Regulatory Report - Form S- Development

- Process Re-engineering

Miscellaneous / Ad-Hoc:

- Provide the team with guidance, training, and development

- Support the budget process

- Assist with regulatory exams

- Non Client Accounts

III. Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

- Requires 4-7 years of Financial Planning & Analyst experience

- Requires excellent MS Excel skills (vlookups, filters, pivot tables, etc.)

- Requires strong work ethic

- Requires strong communication and organizational skills

- Requires attention to detail

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

- N/A

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Financial Services experience

- Basic accounting knowledge

- Good MS Access skills (creating databases, tables, and queries)

- Knowledge of how to run reports from Crystal reporting software and exposure to business objects

- Ability to work with big data
