React as and when necessary in an appropriate manner  - Influence the leadership: Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership and drive the changes required  - Hands On: Understand & build business right from scratch  Vendor network management& operations:  - Lead a vendor-relations team to identify strategic partners, negotiate better terms of trade and deals  - Work with suppliers/sellers to constantly improving the portfolio portfolio  - Create a comprehensive Vendor management strategy and governance framework  People leadership:  - Build, retain and groom a strong team to deliver across functions  - Set goals, define KPIs and ensure team tracks effectively towards goals  - Hire & build a team of specialist/experts to drive aggressive & efficient buying  Desired background:  - 6-10 years of experience in furniture industry  - Experience of managing sourcing or category management experience with key furniture retailers  - Good network in the industry  Desired Competencies:  - Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion  - Willing to take calculated risks to grow the portfolio  - Must be willing to learn & develop ecommerce way of thinking  - Ability to connect with people across teams & levels   - Strong bias for Action - Flipkart works at a very rapid pace
