Job description for the position of Financial Controller based at Southern Part of Africa.

Position: Financial Controller

No of Positions: 1

Qualification Academic : A graduate in Commerce/ accounts

Technical / Professional : Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / CPA

Qualifications from Insurance Institutes of India or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Required Skill Set : (In case of IT requirements)

- A clear leader who fully knows accounting, taxation, auditing of a general insurance company.

- A person having successful track record of managing accounts as well as people.

Relevant Industry: General Insurance

Job Description / Responsibilities:

- Responsible for financial matters and administration of a company.

- Yearly finalization of accounts, quarterly closing, handing taxation matters, maintenance of assets, bank and cash reconciliations.

- Dealing with external and internal auditors.

- Monitoring budgets.

- Debtors reconciliation and collection.

- Filing of periodical returns to tax authorities, insurance and other regulators.

- Managing the investments of the company.

Desired profile of the candidate:

- Should have handled day to day accounting reconciliations, co insurance, receivables, payables, and taxation matters of a general insurance company.

- Should have experience in dealing with government bodies.

- Should be good in MIS.

- Good communication skills.

- Willingness to take up additional responsibilities.

- Should have worked on an ERP package and familiar with IFRS/IAS.

- Capable of re-insurance accounting and settlements.

- Should be well versed with insurance software (the company presently uses premia).

Reporting structure for the position: Reporting to CEO
