Position Title : VP - Enterprise Applications Service Delivery & Business Transformation  Business Unit : Information Technology   Reporting To : CTO  No Of Reportees : 5-7  Location : Bangalore - Head Office  Position Summary (Comprehensive summary of what the job exists to accomplish) :  The IT organization is broadly divided into the following strategic pillars :  - Enterprise Applications Service Delivery and Business Transformation  - Life Asia (the core policy administration system) Delivery  - IT Infrastructure  - IT Security  - The VP of Enterprise Applications Delivery for Exide Life Insurance, India is responsible for overseeing the application portfolio (Sales, Customer Services, Finance, HR, Investments) that support the business and also manage application development initiatives (covering the front office, middle office and back office) through third party vendors.   The primary responsibilities would include :  Delivery of critical business applications and changes - both from a business analysis and development perspective.  Production support - Ensure the availability and incident resolution SLAs are met.  Security - Ensure application vulnerabilities are addressed within the agreed time.  Driving new initiatives on emerging Technologies - Mobility, Social, Cloud.  - New Applications currently account for approximately 25 to 30% of the IT budget.   - The role also involves promoting better software development lifecycle and application management practices. It involves close cooperation with Business Unit heads. The key themes of the role are facilitation, sharing, reuse and standardization of best practices to reduce costs and increase the business value of IT. The role will also entail providing technology assurance on the application space on critical Business initiatives.  Project Related :  - Analysis and Solution Definition. Proactively identify solutions for Business problems  - Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry  - Identifies organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement  - Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution  - Develops functional specifications and system design specifications  - Business Case preparation  Technical Recommendation and Testing :  - Lead testing efforts.   - Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner  - Work with business stakeholders to identify required changes  - Communicate needed changes to development team  - Delivers informative, well-organized presentations  - Understand and tactfully manage communication of difficult/sensitive information  Key Accountabilities (A collection of duties and/or responsibilities assigned) :  - Establish strategy for the applications portfolio and manage execution of applications  - Estimation, design and delivery of solutions to the business  - Establish processes, controls, metrics and measures for delivery  - Ownership for detailed analysis, implementation and production support for COTS (Commercial Off the shelf) applications   - Adherence to risk and compliance requirements as mandated by the framework followed by the organization  - To manage the budgets and schedules for the various business change deliveries   - Provide technical expertise for choice of vendor solutions and COTS packages   - Manage relationship with various stakeholders and achieve a high CSAT rating  Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications (Framework required by the position) :  - Already working in senior IT delivery role with specific exposure to applications, project management and products, preferably in the BFSI/Telecom industry  - 15+ years of relevant experience  - Good communicator capable of adapting his / her message based on the target audience  - Strong process and project management skills as the role will involve assisting Business Units to roll out programs of work  - Commercial acumen as the role will involve budget preparation and definition of IT costs  - Exposure to CRM, Workflow, BPM and other platforms that power enterprises.  - Must have software development experience in early part of his/her career.  Personal Attributes & Competencies :   - Must be able to perform a high degree of multitasking and able to provide thought leadership both on functional and technical/architectural aspects.  Performance Measures (The quantitative measures of the job's overall responsibility) :   PERSON PROFILE (for the Ideal candidate) :  Base Location : Bangalore   Age (Min to Max) : 35-45  Experience (Min to Max) : 10-20  Specific Qualification Requirement, If any : Graduate/ Post Graduate  Industry Preference (Insurance, Telecom, BFSI) LI/GI, BFSI, Telecom, IT Companies   Specific Skill Sets and Weight age assigned to various skill sets   Position reports into :   Direct Reports to the position : 5-7  % Travel Required in this Position : 10%
