Project Description  Department Fundamental research  Nature of Job Permanent  Location Mumbai  Job Title Research Associate / Senior Research Associate  Reporting To Group Manager/AVP  Job Family Advanced Research  Job description  - Provide support to Fundamental Equity Analytics team for a leading investment banking client within Equity Research domain.  - Deep understanding of financial accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), accounting methods (operating/capital leases, pension assets etc.), financial modeling, public company valuation.  - Ability to analyze huge datasets across sectors/across geographies so as to provide deep insights on the trends, capture accounting anomalies, sense data accuracy and finally synthesize tables/charts for client presentation.  - Understanding of macro variables (GDP/CPI, economic uncertainty, volatility) impacting the equity strategist decision making. The role will involve setting data frames in R, running correlation/regressions, interpretation of conditional probability and independent events etc.  - Ability to write/contribute to the sections of the equity strategy reports published by the team independently.  Skill Set/Experience Required  - 2-4 years of financial/equity research experience across sectors with global clients  - Sound financial concepts, modeling skills, ability to work with huge dataset ensuring accuracy and quality  - Technical expertise in advanced excel, VBA and R language (preferable knowledge of running statistical packages in R)   - Excellent written and oral communication skills  - Proficiency in databases - CapIQ, Datastream, Bloomberg, FactSet  - Post Graduate preferably MBA (specialization finance & econometrics)/CFA/CA  Compensation  To be decided on a case-by-case basis, pegged with the best in the industry.
