Job Description for the role - Engineering Manager, Seat-seller :

Introduction & Opportunity Context :

- redBus is the largest OTA in India in transaction volumes (with the exception of the monopolistic IRCTC).

- It is the pioneer in the online bus ticketing industry with a dominant market leadership. Since inception, over 40 million bus tickets have been transacted on redBus and its platforms.

- The objective for ibibo Group is to emerge un-disputedly as the largest online travel business in India, spanning many travel categories through its portfolio businesses - redBus, goibibo and travel boutique online.

Role Definition :

- redBus is looking to hire a EM for one of its engineering team serving the B2B platform. As an EM, this person would be responsible for leading a team of engineers(approx. 6-8 folks) as they develop highly scalable enterprise class application. He/She would be reporting to Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities include :

- Leading the team for timely product releases

- Good understanding of various technologies and being able to come up with solution to address the problem at hand

- Being able to come up with a strong and clear architecture based on the requirements from the team.

- Presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

- Working with Product Managers and other stake holders continuously to churn out new features

- Exploring new technology / framework / languages that are useful for the engineering/business team.

- Being able to lead from front and ensure the features are shipped with the highest quality from security, performance and UX

- Enjoy working in flexible/unstructured environment

- Working closely with the other teams to resolve any dependencies the team is facing

Skill Set :

- 8+ years of experience in Software Development, with an Computer Science/Engineering degree, preferably from a tier 1 institute.

- Good hands on developing experience in java, j2ee, spring & hibernate.

- Problem solving skills with data structure, algorithms & design pattern.

- Good hands on experience in architecture and development of at least one large scale web application

- Experience in leading a team of engineers

- Have a very good understanding of Web architecture

Qualifications :

- B.Tech./B.E. degree, preferably from tier 1/2 engineering colleges.

- 8+ years of development experience in the IT industry.

- Must have good working experience in a competitive environment
