About Technical Resource Center

Context :

The key growth challenges of isolated rural enterprises are absence of - personalized- advisory services, lack of - exposure- to new business ideas and dearth of - need-based- finance. A productive eco-system, which is required for promotion, growth and expansion of a business, is found lacking in isolated rural set-up. In spite of numerous government initiatives, such an eco-system has remained evasive from rural enterprises and has, therefore, led to the micro-enterprises remaining devoid of their inherent growth potential. What is required is a mechanism to reduce the cost of transaction to do business with micro-enterprises. The key services, which professionals like Chartered Accountants and MBAs provide to urban corporate, need to be provided to micro-enterprises at a fraction of cost.

TRC has found that capacity of village youth can be built to an extent that they can deliver personalized business advisory services to micro-enterprises. Through use of advanced technology, they can also do due diligence and provide - Credit Rating- for facilitating finance to micro-enterprises. Through use of videos, the innovative ideas and best practices can be disseminated to potential entrepreneurs. The intervention has found that transaction cost of doing business with micro-enterprises can be reduced to an extent that it can become economical. The isolated rural enterprises, which till now have remained majorly unbanked, can now be targeted due to significant reduction in transaction cost.

Existing Team

Within short span of time, ENABLE has grown into a 50+ member team. The team comprises of professionals and local youth, bound together by strong organizational culture and a passion to work for rural development for long hours. Existing team comprises Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), MBA, engineers, videographers and village youth, apart from members of SHG women federation.
