Job Purpose :  Acting as the APAC regional Rewards specialist within the Global Rewards Centre of Expertise (COE), providing comprehensive advice and support to the APAC HR Business Partners across all areas of Reward, Compensation and Benefits as well as drive Reward projects, business-related initiatives and policy development & decision-making across APAC, in consultation with the Global Reward team and APAC HR Leadership team.   Key Result Areas :   - Provide expert reward advice, and decision support tools for the ongoing needs of our HR community   - Market pricing, job evaluation, analysis of market data and market reference ranges, developing, communicating presenting analyses of internal and external positioning  - External benchmarking of Elseviers pay across key APAC countries (Japan, India, China, Singapore, Australia, Korea & Taiwan) ensuring the appropriate level of quality and rigour in salary surveys utilised  - Create/maintain market reference salary ranges and benefits data by job level and job family  - Adapt/build compensation training materials for People Managers in APAC to create better understand the philosophy & methodology of benchmarking and salary structures/job levels  - Facilitate more effective comp decision-making within the framework  - Provide project management and analytical support for key reward projects   - Play a key role in the global leveling of jobs and the evolution of salary structures/market references  - Assist in developing and implementing communication and education initiatives around rewards programs and policies  - Provide process management and analytical support for annual processes such as salary/merit review and bonus payouts   - Manage/coordinate the use of web-based tools used for salary review and incentive process management; modeling for calibration and decision support, auditing and reporting using HRIS tools (Peoplesoft) and support outcome delivery through communications, workshops and training  - Be pivotal in delivering user feedback on tools & effective in influencing the required changes with the global team  - Maintenance and Enhancement of Reward Infrastructure   - Manage and maintain the classification of roles into job codes as well as the regional incentive award listing, and provide all data required for set up of job code & incentive plan profiles within PeopleSoft  - Provide market data guidance in support of the annual merit increase cycle  - Develop and maintain salary ranges across the region  - Review proposed changes to compensation packages and components bonuses for conformance to policy, internal equity and external benchmarking  - Participate in third party compensation & benefits surveys as needed  - Expert point of contact for APAC benefits   - Maintain data on company benefits across APAC and benchmark externally to ensuring competitiveness  - Interface with APAC SSC teams to ensure data for benefit programmes are captured in PeopleSoft  - Provide reporting support to HR and Finance   - Utilise PeopleSoft as core system for HR/Compensation & Benefits-related reporting wherever possible  Key Competencies :  Interpersonal Skills :  - Ability to work autonomously & remotely as part of a global team  - Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with HR and the business  - Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to communicate technically complex subjects in simple terms  - Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization  Confidentiality :  - Strong accuracy and attention to detail  - Results orientation & deadline driven  - Excellent prioritisation and time management skills  - Able to build and maintain effective working relationships across HR and the business  - General Knowledge and Technical Skills  - Strong analytical and numeracy skills  - Broad and deep understanding of reward/compensation tools, theory and practices  - Excellent MS Excel and data manipulation skills  - Expert level knowledge of market and survey data analysis techniques and job evaluation particularly Mercer IPE points factor evaluation methodology  - Advanced statistical analysis capabilities and ability to summarize, present and communicate complex data, results and ideas  Preferable experience :  - Deep working knowledge/experience of compensation matters across APAC region, especially in China, India & Japan  - Strong working knowledge of Compensation Analytics  - Use of HRMS systems such as PeopleSoft and/or on-line Compensation Management tools
