Key Result Areas:  - Contract Support - Negotiates, drafts, and provides legal advice with respect to customer contracts, publishing agreements, distribution and agency agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other commercial agreements  - Sales Legal Support - Provides legal advice and support on marketing matters (including promotional contests), disputes, investigations, and day-to-day legal issues  - Team Work - Assists, with senior Elsevier lawyers and local outside counsel, with compliance with Indian regulations  - Publishing Support - Provides legal support (including training) for international compliance programs, particularly bribery prevention  - International Environment - Participates in global legal department projects  Candidate Profile:  - India-qualified lawyer (foreign LLM degree a plus)  - Demonstrated ability to review, analyze, and advise on contract matters  - Result-oriented; has superior analytical and problem-solving skills and is relentlessly creative in finding solutions to problems  - Business-oriented; able to offer legal advice that is informed by an understanding of the key drivers of the supported businesses  - Customer-oriented; able to build relationships and foster the confidence of clients  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong drafting and negotiation skills   - Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, in a highly efficient and effective manner in a global and multi-cultural environment  - Fluent (verbally and written) in English  - Values quality, integrity, diversity, pragmatism and productivity  - At least five to eight years of relevant commercial law experience at a reputable law firm or as an in-house counsel in an international environment
