Performance Chemicals will have global leadership in titanium dioxide, fluorochemicals, fluoropolymers and selected specialty and industrial chemicals. It will be focused on serving customers who rely on these products, along with improved capability to respond to customer needs and market trends with a highly competitive asset base, product line and workforce.   Performance Chemicals will have a presence in 36 countries and will serve customers in more than 90 countries around the world. The new company will supply customers from 38 manufacturing locations, which span every region of the world. The result will be a new company with the assets and presence to support the continued global operation of our businesses and to serve customers around the world  Primary Function: Direct and Indirect Taxation  Brief Job Description :  The job involves the following:  - The person will be independently managing the Direct tax, and indirect tax affairs of company.   - The person will be responsible for ensuring all tax (direct and indirect) compliances, tax planning, defending audits & assessments and handling litigations.  - The job will involve on direct taxes ensuring correct implementation of transfer polices of the company, return filing, getting assessments done, handling appeals.  - The job involves on indirect taxes advising on custom classification and valuations, claiming custom exemptions, getting assessed by Special Valuation Brach (SVB), Excise at plant and warehouses, Service taxes compliances, and local VAT.   - He/she would be independently interacting with tax authorities, appearing before hearings, making oral and written submissions.   - He/she would be representing the Company before appeal authorities. Would be networking and reporting to the Management.   - The person would be strongly networking with internal customers and work closely with functions like HR, Legal, Sourcing and business leaders.   - The person would also be responsible for managing external consultants, auditors and key external stakeholders like Government, from the tax perspective.  Education Qualification & Years of Experience required:   Competence Requirement:  - Good interpersonal skills and proficiency in English language.  - Good drafting skills.  - A Chartered Accountant with 8-10 years of relevant Experience. Additional LLB qualification is preferred.   - Good knowledge of Direct & Indirect Taxes Laws, rules and procedures (including Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements) & working knowledge of Indian TP Laws, Custom Acts, Foreign Trade Policies, Excise and Service Tax, State VAT/CST.   - Good understanding of general legal, financial and accounting principles.  - Good understanding of computerized working environment and knowledge of SAP.  Minimum Skills Required:   - Good interpersonal skills and proficiency in English language.  - Good drafting skills.  - Good understanding of general legal, financial and accounting principles.  - Good understanding of computerized working environment and knowledge of SAP.
