Objective / Purpose of duty:
- Evangelizing Dimension Data’s IDC and Cloud solutions and strategy to key customers, prospects, partners, analysts, media and to the internal sales and technical teams.
- Playing an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.
Main Responsibilities:
Role incumbent will be a technology and services-oriented resource responsible for:
- Evangelizing Dimension Data’s IDC and Cloud solutions and strategy to key customers
- Active participation in discussions and engagements with vendors, customers, analysts and media to influence them with Dimension Data directions
- Leveraging the datacenters to create market ready services and solutions in the cloud and datacenter services domain
- Conceptualizing and creation of services, products, blueprints, architectures etc.
- Develop relationship with key technology partners and impress them with Dimension Data’s credibility as a comprehensive cloud and datacenter service creator and provider
- Developing business case justifications and cost / benefit analysis for investments, spending and initiatives.
- Assess and communicate risks associated with investments towards these datacenter
- Develop, track and control the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Meeting obligatory technology and infrastructural requirements as committed to clients
- Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the datacenters
- Lead the professional services team to develop the go-to-market strategy to facilitate customers’ transition to a more solutions-based engagement model.
- Identifying key metrics that quantify the success of solutions based engagements. This may include but not be limited to pipeline baseline and estimated impact of solutions/consultative selling tactics; pipeline/conversion rate of opportunities in forecast that have PS at the POS; etc.
- Working in conjunction with Sales, Professional Services & Managed Services team and leverage cross functional organizations to help identify engagement models and best practices tailored to the specific needs of the Indian market.
- Active engagement with regional and global technical resources and disseminate the information.
Experience & Qualification:
- At least 20 years, with min 8 years in leadership position.
- Electrical Engineer or science graduate (with MBA preferred)
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Strong understanding of Datacentre IT technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace. This includes servers, storage, networks, applications and middleware and Cloud offerings.
- Senior management experience with consulting business management, SAN and NAS storage, UNIX and NT solutions, and backup solutions is critical.
- Demonstrated working experience with Sales organizations and technical teams and proven ability to manage professional management level employees, partners, operations and projects in a fast moving environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to provide guidance and leadership to professional personnel
- Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management
- Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-term goals
