Seeking simplifications and opportunities to reduce Payroll costs through centralisation, project prioritization and productivity benefit realisation.  Market Complexity Activities cover the entire Diageo structure, requiring connection with market and supply teams, covering the whole structure of Diageo. In particular, there will be close liaison with the HR leadership team in both centres of excellence and in markets. The role will also work closely with leaders and teams across GDBS.  Leadership Responsibilities - Senior Stakeholder engagement across the HR and Diageo Business Services (DBS) functions; influencing as necessary  - Engagement across all Payroll processes, systems, markets and vendors. External stakeholder engagement as appropriate  - Strong inter personal skills are required to motivate and ensure alignment across multiple teams; business process, data and technical governance  - The ability to lead and communicate / influence effectively across many different cultures including external company cultures and time zones  - Lead the Payroll process governance and associated Integrations between Workday, other Payroll input applications and Payroll systems as applicable  - Drive significant simplification and efficiency into Payroll processes, leveraging automation where possible  - Ensure all controls and processes are understood and delivered to meet internal and external regulatory requirements  - Act as guardian of payroll process globally through the maintenance of process and performance metrics  Purpose of Role : The Payroll Process Governance Manager will enable brilliant execution of process through efficient and effective governance on Diageo HCM systems and through external payroll providers  Top Accountabilities : Global Payroll Process Owner working directly with HRLT to ensure that Diageo Payroll vision of ensuring every employee is paid on-time in full across every pay cycle is realised  - Create, document and maintain end to end payroll processes, controls and performance metrics  - Drive simplification into end to end Payroll process  - Safeguard the standards by creating visibility and transparency  - Provide Payroll process expertise to projects  Accountabilities in Payroll process:  - Design, create and maintain process policies and standards   - Define KPIs and targets and provide insights on the outcomes  - Maintain global governance tools, process maps, global documentation  - Drive to implement simplification and Global Standards across all markets  - Maintain an external perspective on best in class payroll process and apply to improvements   - Provide input to the HR Process Board on exceptions to the standards   - Build payroll process knowledge and awareness in teams that interact with the end to end process  - Ensure efficient and effective use of the investment in our HR and payroll systems  Global Priority Projects  - Provide Business Analysis and subject matter expertise to priority Global projects - typically through analyse and design  - Thorough Gap Analysis and documentation to support design  - Support the development of Strong business cases  - Ensure robust designs and limit process deviations to only statutory and legal requirements  - Liaise effectively across business requirements and technical solutions  BSS Transitions  - Identify further opportunities to grow the BSS footprint  - Gap Analysis across the processes  - Thorough Gap Analysis and documentation to support design  - Develop any new or amendments to Global Documentation e.g. BPOs, DTPs, GDD's FDs  - Task split sizing  Strategy & Compliance :   - Support shaping of the Governance team Strategy   - Identifying opportunities for process improvement and pre-empting compliance issues.   - Ensure that cross stream integration effectively supports the control agenda  - Support Core Governance as required; ad hoc questions, Policy re-writes etc.   BSS Operational Excellence  - Drive the operational excellence / productivity agenda  - Lead process reviews and identify process enhancements for underperforming business units  - Run Analyse and Design for Process Improvements initiated by Governance,  - Provide second line process support to service delivery teams  M&A  :   - Provide Business Analyst subject matter experts to mergers, acquisitions, disposals and new route to market projects.   - Support the business development agenda as part of a cross functional team to deliver successful business change  - Gather business requirements, evaluate feasibility and do-ability to design a suitable process to meet these requirements including the change impacts associated  Qualifications and Experience Required Key Criteria to be successful in this role:  - Minimum of Five year experience in FMCG environment working across Payroll processes  - Experience in payroll process management at both an operational and strategic level in a multi-country / multi-vendor payroll environment  - Proven track record as a collaborative team player, able to work in a cross functional team and collaborate to deliver to ambitious timelines   - Demonstrated capability to build and maintain good business relationships   - Demonstrated capability to effectively deliver through cross-functional and geographically diverse teams  - Experience interpreting business requirements, recognizing impact on business processes, and making recommendations  - A structured and methodical approach with attention to detail and a strong control and governance mindset  - Knowledge of how to apply appropriate models, frameworks and best practice   - Strong communications skills both written and verbal  Barriers to Success in Role - Lack of ability to influence at a senior level  - Poor engagement skills with key stakeholders  - Lack of ability to deliver though others  - Poor communication skills  - Inability to work across cultures/geographies  Flexible Working options / Travel requirements   For this role we anticipate the percentage of travel to be between 0 - 25 percent.
