Job Description  To develop and implement strategic category product plans and procurement plans that will maximize sales and profit. Prioritize products/services based on Village Level Entrepreneurs and consumer requirements, define the product vision aligned with social causes / impact and work closely with sales, product/service partners & supply chain to ensure attainment of social vision, of Dharma Life brand, and consistent business growth.  Category Product Strategy  Create and implement a long-term and short-term strategic product plan based on business goals defining categories, DLEs and consumer profiles, rural market opportunity / challenges, pricing, geography, product portfolio and enhancement, new product ideas, product partnerships and supply chain/ channel strategy. Build scope for inclusion of new products in the category plan.  Strategic Sourcing/Procurement  Strategic sourcing to optimally source products and services to meet business requirements. Includes category sourcing as well as general/ tactical sourcing activities and cross-category sourcing support activities.  Product / Service Research, Survey & Analysis  Conceptualize and implement Field Pilot Programs and Product / Service Research Programs to gather VLEs/retailers/ consumers insights, expressions and knowledge.   Multi - Product Price Optimization  Build Pricing Models for each category in collaboration with product partners based on the current trends, historical data, forecasts, target rural market, and products social impact.  Market Intelligence and Competitive Mapping  Market Research to gain insights on product preferences among consumers. Analyze and understand consumer attitudes and behavior towards competitive products.  Product / Service Partner Management  Identify, screen, assess and select product/service partners based on market benchmarking analysis process on quality, performance consistency and other relevant parameters.  Alignment with Sales & Supply Chain  Work in close coordination with supply chain and sales to identify and develop programs to generate incremental sales and/or profitability. Reviews channels and customer-specific point-of-purchase sales plans and provides feedback on consistency with marketing plan. Analyse and provide consumer, category, and brand information to support supply chain and sales in category management and sales presentations.  Preference to the candidates who have worked with top organizations in the rural development/social enterprise related space. Other industry exposure candidates may also be considered. In such case, preference will be given to FMCG, Farm, eCommerce and Service Sector exposure.  Should have managed Category, directly as part of the responsibility   Multiple Products / Services Category Management exposure  Experience of working with forecasting tools and database systems  Should have an exposure to legal aspects of contracting, agreements etc. and understanding of P & L statement  Previous purchasing/procurement experience and an understanding of National and International Procurement Regulations.  About Dharma Life  Dharma Life is a social enterprise that aims to create sustainable livelihood in villages through village level entrepreneurs ( also called Dharma Life Entrepreneurs), who provide socially impactful products to consumers at the base of the pyramid at an affordable cost.  We engage, train and support a network of village level entrepreneurs by making them realize their potential and empower them with a purpose to serve their community.
