DGM Legal - Contract Management

Location: Mumbai

Reports to: VP Legal Transactions.

Note: CTC - As per Industry Hike with a 78/22 Ratio. (78% Fixed and 22% Variables.)

Role purpose:

To provide:

a) strategic guidance to the top management and Exe Co in relation to strategic business transactions, including impacting products and services, with particular focus on fixed line (voice and data), Marketing as well as Cloud and Hosting Services in the Business Services segment

b) advise the leadership team of Company Business Services on transaction risk management, including risk evaluation and mitigation.

- Be the point of contact for, and responsible for providing legal support in relation to the Responsible Areas

- Meeting with and raising escalations to the senior legal leadership team and senior business leaders within Business Services.

- Manage the creation and maintenance of new template contracts for the Responsible Areas and ensure controlled releases to the business;

- Liaise with AVP Corporate Integrity and Risk to ensure compliance related issues are addressed within the Business Services organization in relation to the Responsible Areas;

- Be able to manage relationships effectively at all levels within India and Group as well as with large international enterprise customers and strategic partners.

Deliver timely legal advice into strategic initiatives and contracts and actively participate in any steering or other governance forums;

- Develop and implement innovative legal solutions (including good quality template contracts for fixed line services as well as cloud and hosting services) to business on transactions and issues and assist the business in resolving complex transaction issues;

- Manage the legal and regulatory risks associated with the Responsible Areas.

Professional qualifications:

- A professional law degree (LLB) with 10 to 14 years of post-qualification experience:

- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a reputable law firm;

- 7 to 9 years of experience of in-house legal work;

Direct reports: 3 (internal)

Dotted reports: Supervises the work of dedicated external lawyers based in Delhi
