One of our Clients in Pharmaceutical Industry is looking out for the following position;
DGM - Accounts & Taxation - Corporate Office - Mumbai
Profile / Job Responsibilities of DGM Accounts & Taxation
Main purpose or objective of the job:
- To lead the accounting team for compilation of monthly, quarterly & annual accounts and for quality and timeliness of reporting to management / shareholders
- Handling various matters relating to Income Tax from ensuring compliance till completion of assessment.
- Major tasks / accountabilities of position
Accounting:
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring various accounting activities to ensure timely delivery of accounting information.
- Ensuring control procedures are followed in all sections of accounting in order to comply with corporate governance norms.
- To improve efficiency and accuracy by reviewing accounting processes and development of accounting team members through work review and discussions.
- Scrutiny and Analysis of Accounts, Analytical Review of the same.
- Guiding, supporting team members on matters related to Payroll, A/cs Payable, TDS, Bank reconciliations etc.
- Building cross-functional rapport as also with colleagues in the HO, Factory and Branches.
- Liaison with internal & statutory auditors.
- Disclosure and presentation of the financial affairs in accordance with Accounting Standards, Companies Act etc.
- Compilation of data for filing the accounts in Xbrl format
- Handling various closing activities in SAP with respect to monthly, quarterly & annual accounts. Coordinating with IT department, consultants for developing various reports in SAP
- Troubleshooting, solving queries of FI users
Taxation:
- Computation of Tax payable - for Advance Tax as well as for Annual Tax Returns
- Finalisation of Tax Accounts and Tax Audit and filing of Income/Wealth Tax Returns.
- Coordinating with tax consultants & facilitating the assessment proceedings.
- Skills, experience and qualifications required for the job
Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant with 10-12 years experience in handling accounting and tax functions of a Public Limited Company.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Leadership, communication, planning and coordinating
- Should have very good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards & Company Law provisions.
