Dell - Business Analysis Consultant

Principal Duties: Dell Global Fulfillment and Logistics is looking for a motivated individual with a strong operations research background and optimization skills to join our network optimization team. The candidate should have applied experience in numerical optimization methods with a focus on logistics networks and product inventory.

Responsibilities:

- Develop framework and methods to define and solve logistics problems through quantitative analysis and analytical models, using operations research,
statistics and optimization techniques.

- Partner with various business teams to develop system prototypes/simulation models of the logistics network.

- Partner in strategic initiatives that identify and mitigate key business risks to ensure a world class logistics network

- Use analytical models to validate proposals from World Wide Logistics procurement and extended fulfillment and logistics teams.

- Lead efforts to drive business process improvements in support of team objectives.

- Evaluate Key Performance Indicators and validate network performance against operational and spend metrics.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Abilities:

- MS Quality Reliabiity operations research

Ms Quantitative economics, Ph D

Mathematics, Operations Research, Business Analytics or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a hi tech industry.

- Experience designing and implementing optimization models in for inventory, networks and other characteristics of supply-chain systems (e.g. facility location, mode optimization).

- Experience with SQL and statistical tools (SAS, JMP).

- Expertise in one or more of the following: optimization, probability theory, queuing theory, simulation, stochastic models, forecasting and mathematical modeling.

- Familiarity with inventory planning concepts - forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics

- Strong skills in Project Management, Continuous Improvement Methods (Six Sigma) and Lean Principles.

- Strength in the core competencies of organizational agility and ability to influence senior management;

- Command and presentation skills are critical.
