CTO - eCommerce Startup

Role Summary - This role will be responsible for leading the overall development of the web based platform keeping in mind the business model, system architect, economic feasibility and most importantly the user interface aspect.

- Lead the creation of the technical solution including platform selection and technical design, aligned to the business vision and achieve expected impact within defined budgets

- Assess and advise on the best model for technical development, i.e. make or buy, after conducting a detailed study around economic feasibility as well as future viability of the product in terms of updation, maintenance etc

- Formulate Product Roadmaps and involve in defining solutions which meets requirements with minimum development effort and with optimum application performance

- Provide technical direction to the chief architect/ engineer and identify creative ways to differentiate the technical offering in order to maximize business reach and customer impact

- Ensure alignment of technical design with customer requirements and best in class technological offerings

- Oversee and lead the development of the technical architecture and backbone for the business which would involve and include

Taking the lead and decisions on the tech stack

Overseeing the development, prototyping, code reviews, maintenance, iterating

Leading the identification and release of new features

Evaluating new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve the stability, performance and quality of the technical backbone of the business

- Identifying new technical enhancements and act as an assessor / auditor on the level of automation desired that would enhance the organization's product offering

- Identify and recruit the best technical talent, keep the team motivated and engaged; mentor the team effectively to deliver outcomes

- Strong technologist with an ability to align technical design to meet the business vision

- Demonstrated ability to envision web-based services that meet consumer needs or solve business problems.

- Over 15 years- experience in managing web application development and experience with start-up companies.

- Adept at analyzing situations and developing alternative solutions based on experience, research, team input and imposed guidelines.

- Participative leader and mentor, consistently bringing energy, decisiveness and equity to maximizing team performance.

- Experienced in handling cross-functional teams of Analysts, Architects, Developers, QAs, Production Support, Project Management, Documentation and Release Engineering teams.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Strong technical project management & team management capabilities
