Actuarial - P&C / US Pensions

Job title: Senior Research Analyst / Manager

Job Duties for US Pensions role:

Assist the client in pension accounting of US DB pension schemes. This will involve data validation, running the valuations and advising the client on contribution requirements and other accounting disclosure information as per the rules specified in US pension regulations.

Job Duties for P&C:

- Assist the global P&C insurance and reinsurance clients in reserving and pricing related activities

- The role would involve developing and maintaining various pricing and reserving models

- Communicating with the client for project specifications and deliverables and taking ownership of various client processes

- Co-ordinate and support the BD team to penetrate P&C clients with various activities that can be offshored

- Candidate should be willing to travel to client locations for understanding and transitioning the work and to conduct business meetings with new and existing clients.

Qualification

- Actuarial Student with at least 6 exams passed from Indian/UK actuarial societies; or 5 papers from CAS.

- Even fully qualified actuaries can apply

Institution - IAI, IOA UK, CAS USA

Experience/ Organization

- > 4 years of experience in P&C (General Insurance) either in a KPO or a P&C Insurance firm

- At least 2 years of experience doing P&C actuarial work

Skills required for P&C

- Sound understanding of P&C work (preferably work done in USA and UK) OR Experience in US Pensions

- Worked on reserving, pricing, analysis of pure premiums, capital modeling, predictive modeling, Cat models

- Should be familiar with at least one widely used pricing and reserving actuarial software’s like ResQ, ReservPro, Igloo, Pretium etc.

- Ability to understand client models and provide solutions to improve the performance of such models

- Strong statistical and other quantitative tools

- Should possess strong analytical and communication skills.
