Consultant - Agri/Rural Banking

Experience:

- 4-10 years’ experience in Banking Products and Channels, Business Strategy and Operations, Financial Inclusion, Branchless Banking

- Experience working with NBFCs and/or consulting companies

Academic/ professional qualifications:

- Masters level degree ( or higher) in Banking/Business Administration/ Agriculture / Rural Management / Economics or related field

Description:

- The banking consultant will lead and support consulting assignments typically focused on - improving the business model and operations; and enhancing the uptake / scaling up of banking products (asset, liability, insurance, payments, remittances and so on) through multiple channels (including branchless banking channels such as business correspondents).

Providing consulting services to a range of large banks to:

- Improve / enhance the business model and operations focused on rural markets and consumer segments;

- Enhance the uptake / scaling up of banking products (asset, liability, insurance, payments, remittances and so on) through multiple channels (including branchless banking channels such as business correspondents)

- Enable product enhancements with a focus on the retail and excluded customer segment

- Support banks in developing, testing and rolling out enhanced/new products aligned to the consumer needs.

- Support process improvement or re-engineering with the objectives of improving customer service, quality, efficiency and risk management.

- Support consumer awareness building for branchless/agency banking to accelerate and scale-up adoption.

- Manage consumer and other market research to support one or more of the aforesaid objectives.

- Develop business and have responsibility for revenue targets for the banking domain.

- Conduct reviews and ensure quality control client deliverables and other documents.

- Regularly write focus notes, research papers, blogs to bring out learning and point of views on the sector and industry.
