Climate Connect Limited is Online Media and Analytics start-up for Energy Environment Markets. Started in 2010 by a group of Stanford University, Cambridge University and ETH Zurich alumni, it runs a network of websites and develops enterprise level solutions that provide access to content (news, prices, databases, commentary, forecasts etc) and analytics for emerging energy environmental markets. The company’s core strength is a unique combination of sector knowledge, being engaged with the market, analytical skills and delivery by cutting edge IT tools. The entire team is based in India.   The Role:   The company is looking to hire an “Energy Modeller” that can work on advanced models related to energy markets. The profile includes modelling and bespoke valuation of pricing, hedging, and forecasting of the key complex market and system balancing risks facing the business, both on a portfolio wide and customer specific basis in commodity trading - specifically in power trading and energy markets. The candidate should have idea of futures and options. It further includes modelling of operational risk, the credit risk modelling strategy, and providing modelling solutions. It also involves ownership of the responsibility for delivering relevant projects, systems, and solutions to time and budget. Manage the maintenance and enhancement of current relevant systems and models. The candidate will get top exposure to a fast growing start-up company.   Required:   - The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and ideally experience in the energy/financial markets.   - Have a numerate first degree or equivalent (for example in Finance/Maths/Engineering) with preferably a higher degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.   - Demonstrate strong economic, market and financial analytical skills.   - Be proficient in using advanced tools in MS Excel.  - Have good IT skills: MS Office suite, VB(A), C++, Matlab, statistical packages  - Knowledge of futures and options in commodity trading  - Have excellent theoretical knowledge of derivative instruments and practical experience in their applications and behaviour.   - In depth understanding of valuation and risk analysis methods.  - Demonstrate ability to transform theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world situations.   - Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise feedback/reports to senior management.  - Be able to cope in a high pressure environment.   - The post holder will have an excellent understanding of:   Options pricing and hedging, volatility and correlation.   Valuation of complex transactions.   Statistical analysis, regression and stress testing.   - Must be willing to work in a start-up environment.  Qualification: Bachelor’s from an IIT, NIT or equivalent institute in India, OR, a numerate Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from a top 20 global university.
