What this role entails:

- Deliver our tax and compliance services to our customers including but not limited to Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Book-Keeping & Accounting, Statutory Compliances like Audit, Company Incorporation, Financial Planning & Investment among others

- Demonstrate thorough understanding on customers profile (Eg. Traders, SME, Freelancers etc.); Consult customers on their compliance needs and pitch Cleartax services as applicable

- Capable to handle Finance function of a company or portfolio of companies and should be able to handle all aspects including accounting, vendor payment, bank reconciliation, taxation, finalization, cash flow and fixed assets

- Review and oversee team assignments including Accounting : Accounting for small business (end-to-end) and providing MIS as per customer requirements

- Review and oversee team assignments including Tax : Good knowledge of taxes (Direct & Indirect) to meet registration and compliance requirements of small and medium size customers

- Review and oversee team assignments including Secretarial - Incorporation of Private Company, Section.25 Company, LLP; Filing of e-Forms with ROC, mandatory and event based compliances like name change, increase in share capital, rights issue, transfer of shares, Annual Filing, Secretarial compliances, drafting of resolutions, minutes, LLP Agreement, Compliances under Companies Act, 2013, e-stamping of documents.

- Develop solution proposals encompassing the most relevant Cleartax offerings for our partners and demonstrate ROI to partners

- Periodically organize trainings for sales, support teams to build expertise in tax and compliance within the organization

- Work closely with the Product team to help build out new products

- Build a strong Tax and Compliance setup within Cleartax; Work closely with the Business Owners and Founders to build a team of CA/CS/Lawyers to deliver tax and compliance services

- Provide Quality Control and assurance for services delivered by partner CA/CS/Legal firms

Desired Candidate Profile

- CA/CS/Law Background Only. MBA is a bonus. Significant startup experience a Bonus

- Ideally should have simplified and scaled people-intensive operations with track record of highest quality in delivery in a high growth environment. Prior experience of working with corporate or similar set-up handling Accounting & Finance function of large professional services firm handling clients is advantageous

- Subject Matter expert Process oriented and should be able to document each and every activity in process document

- Good English skills, advanced computer skills and knowledge of research capabilities

- Data Driven Decision Making, People Management and Service Delivery are the mantras

- Strong focussing on setting up and scaling operations

- Service Delivery - including measuring and meeting quality and compliance metrics

- Able to handle customer queries and escalation and be able to convincingly manage them

- Willing to work in a startup. Be entrepreneurial in nature

- Comfortable and open to working on new technologies and platforms.
