Candidate Requirement:

The Ideal candidate should have 20+ years of overall work experience out of which at least 5+ years in a leadership position preferably with a Not for profit organization.

S/he should be a hands-On leader yet strategic to take the organization to the next level.

Prior experience in the field of philanthropy, not-for-profit management and governance, and community relations is highly desirable.

The position requires an individual with knowledge and experience in management and administration and thus demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management is preferred.

He or She should be action oriented and innovative. S/he translates broad goals into achievable steps.

S/he anticipates and solves problems and takes advantage of opportunities, is a self-starter and team player.

The individual must be comfortable with diversity and respectful of a wide range of faiths, beliefs and experiences.

S/he consistently displays integrity, models behavior, develops people, and builds teams.

Deals effectively with demanding situations and designs and implements interventions.

S/he should be proficient in Hindi and English (verbal and written communication).

Working knowledge of Marathi would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:-

Provides general oversight of all organizational activities, manages the day-to-day operations, and assures a smooth functioning, efficient organization.

Assures program quality and organizational stability through development and implementation of - systems and procedures and regular evaluation.

Build and cultivate a culture/work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and volunteers.

Assures process for selecting, developing, motivating, and evaluating staff and volunteers.

Specifies accountabilities for senior staff (whether paid or volunteer) and evaluates performance regularly.

Manages the Board's due diligence process to assure timely attention to the core issues.

Works with the Board members to get the best thinking and involvement of each Board member and to stimulate each Board member to give his or her best.

Listens to clients, volunteers, donors and the community in order to improve services and generate community involvement. Serves as chief spokesperson for the organization, assuring proper representation of it across the community. Initiates, develops, and maintains cooperative relationships with key stakeholders.

Works with legislators, regulatory agencies, volunteers and representatives of social sectors and the government bodies to promote legislative and regulatory policies that encourage a healthy community.

Oversees the fiscal activities of the organization including budgeting, reporting and audit.

Works with Board to ensure financing to support short and long-term goals.

Assure an effective fund development program by serving as the chief development officer.

Informs the Board and its committees about trends, issues, problems and activities in order to facilitate policy-making.

Keeps informed of developments in human services, not for profit management and governance, philanthropy and development.
