Job Purpose:
Category Manager is a lead for a particular category He/ She will be a leading a 3-4 member team responsible for driving growth of a category. The teams comprise of high quality professionals with significant experience in their area of operation, and this role is intended to give a deep exposure to business and people management for the suitable candidate
Duties:
- Responsible for career management of 8-10 team members
- Spearheading all aspects of a category life cycle
- Responsible for treating category as Profit & Loss statement, achieving targets
- Responsible to manage/spearhead the product catalog, product range and supplier relationships.
- Merchandise planning & Vendor negotiations
- Analysis of inventory cycles and optimization of stock levels
- Identify and leverage alternate buying opportunities to source products
- To work with the business team and ensure that there is consistent, appropriate and unique product presentation across the Category
- Integration with internal stakeholders and external customers
- Competition and consumer tracking
- To manage replenishment strategies for customer and DC inventory levels.
- Driving category level efficiencies with desired service levels and in stock level at warehouse.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Positive attitude, desire to learn
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Should be Graduate/Master from IIM
- Experience in Nutrution segment will be preferred.
- Experience in E-commerce industry will be preferred.
