CATEGORY MANAGER  (General Merchandising/Stationary/Housekeeping Material/ Auto-parts/Mobile/IT Peripherals)  Responsible for identifying & streamlining purchasing processes in-line with Management policy, Strategy planning for procurement, Vendor development & assessment of vendor delivery performance & evaluation of commercial conditions of quotations. He/she would drive business growth, and market share of the specific category with strong product, competition and consumer analytics. Contribute in development of periodic financial plans and projections. Contribute in the product communication development, including creation and execution of sales and promotion plans to maximize sales achievement.   1. Responsible for the overall planning for Buying & Merchandising.  2. Responsible for monitoring of inventory / sales plan / Gross Margins   3. Develop & communicate (to team members) short & long term plans that are comprehensive, realistic & effective in order to support all merchandising and replenishment activities  4. Contribute in creation of sales plans and completely own up the execution of the same to maximize sell-thru of the inventory made available to sell   5. Monitoring product lifecycle of every product in the category and take early calls for opportunity maximization   6. Executes inter-category / intra-category events and sales promotions  7. Pre season planning in terms of store wise category wise OTB / SKU/ price point requirement with past season trend analysis and planned future events into consideration.   8. Construct & use budgets to manage & monitor spends for the category and ensures that adjustment processes are in place for over/under achievement  9. Keep shrinkages / pilferages under control   10. Identify opportunities and use a broad range of strategies in order to achieve cost control, cost containment targets and add value to area of expenditure through a total cost orientation  11. Ensure thorough analysis of supply markets relative to category of expenditure in order to logically substantiate the evaluation of sourcing group & supplier management strategies  12. Manage relationships and ways of working with key vendors in order to align understanding & commitment with customer expectations.  13. Negotiate at tactical & strategic level to develop complex procurement plan and major company purchasing contracts appropriate to category of expenditure  14. Identify implement & continuously improve systems & processes in order to deliver greater effectiveness of service for the company & customers  15.
