Collaborate with the Head-Direct Procurement, Business SCM heads, Site SCM Heads and Shared Services Team for development, management and implementation of fully integrated category strategies in alignment with PEL's goals  Develop & maintain insights on market price movements, supply demand scenario, competitors position in the category & subcategory  Conduct extensive Spend Analysis for the category and provide insight for spend optimization.  Acting as the focal point for category subject matter expertise to the global business and procurement community; providing financial and business analysis (e.g. Data mining of Procurement and Financial Systems, output analysis and interpretation) and supporting global market intelligence in the category area  Drive procurement strategy for a given customer by providing price and market/ vendor inputs to Site buyers in RFP finalization or sourcing decisions for High Value / Critical materials. Lead and finallise the prices, contracts rates & volume allocation for all the key and critical items  Drive continuous improvement of procurement process by collaborating with relevant stakeholders (Supply chain and Business Leadership, Business SCM Heads and Shared Services team) so as to support the business objectives  Conduct Classification of Raw & Packaging material using the Kraljic portfolio model and categorize materials into Strategic, Bottleneck, Routine & Leverage items  Ensure the Risk Assessment & Risk Mitigation program is conducted for all items in the category through alternate vendor development and robust MIS/review mechanisms  Ensuring Compliance to Regulatory aspects, Policies and Standard Operating procedures through site SCM Heads, Site Heads and Site Buyers  Drive enhanced usage of IT/SAP for automation and standardization of various reports  Manage performance delivery, continuous improvement and innovation from vendors on a global basis, reducing total cost of ownership, enabling OTIF/JIT procurement of the required direct materials, thereby supporting global procurement targets  Proactively develop and enhance the strategic vendor pool for the organization supported by a centralized Repository for Vendors data base, their performance history and market insights. Initiate and Pursue alternate vendor development and risk mitigation projects  Develop, evaluate and manage business relationships with vendors through objective performance assessment, focus on win-win outcomes and mutual trust  Advise on contracts and agreements for the supply of complex products and services with new and existing vendors  Co-ordinate with Vendors globally to arrange for queries & FDA updates required for Regulatory filings
