Role Description:  To head PBS (Packaged Business Solutions) Competency comprising a large pool of SAP & Oracle resources ensuring adequate resource and skill support. The competency head would also drive the competency transformation program implementing a nimble organization model to support the business dynamics and growth.   Organization Unit Competency Head is part of the PBS Practice in OBU (Offshore Business Unit)  Location Mumbai (preferred) / Bangalore  Responsibilities   - Oversee the competency function preparing employees ensuring skill plans, employee engagement and performance management.  - Drive the Competency transformation program by creating a conducive environment for the Competency Leads to execute their respective competency plans  - Manage Skill development programs in line with individual career goals and business needs to build and control expertise based Skill Pyramid  - Plan and manage resource skill and hiring plans in line with PBS practice plans to control the overall resource cost  - Drive objective performance monitoring to improve satisfaction and control the attrition.   - Support delivery for complex critical project issues. Work with delivery heads to define skill improvement and training plans.   - Participate in solution designs for large opportunity deals and pre-sales activities.   - Work with global COE to identify new skill & competency development opportunities and support and guide various solutions, offers and POC working with the COE team.  - Work with multiple internal / external stakeholders like Alliances, Delivery / Solution teams, HR etc. to collaboratively work in enhancing the PBS competency to effectively and efficiently support the customer needs  - Improving the performance of Competency operations by automation and / or improvement of existing processes   Skills and Experience  - 15 to 20 years- of SAP experience in leading IT service organization in consulting, solutions and project management.   - Must have strong SAP product background in one of the functional modules in early phase of career.  - Experience in some related important and large responsibility role with a team size of @ 1000 people is must.   - Strong product knowledge in SAP product suite including the new solutions and technologies.  - Exposure to global delivery with large offshore delivery centers is necessary, ideally a mix of AD and ADM environment.   - Able to set vision and goals, enable and drive the team to meet the set goals and take necessary corrective and supportive actions.   - Able to manage complexity, deal with a multi culture environment and bring in differentiation with skills and experience.  - Excellent communication skills, both verbal & oral, and presentation capabilities.  - Ready to travel up to 30 % of the time  - Experience of similar role would be major advantage.  - Experience in some business domain would be major advantage.  Educational Qualifications  - MBA or equivalent education  - PMP / Prince2 certification would be an advantage
