Job Description for Ethics & Compliance / Legal Counsel

Capgemini India \ Mumbai

Qualification:

The candidate must be a qualified lawyer, having degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputed university, and should have a post qualification experience of 3-5 years as an in-house counsel with an IT/ITES company and an experience in ethics and compliance programs.

Whereas the job is located in Mumbai, it operates in a true multicultural and global environment where numerous interactions will happen with the HQ based in Europe and the other Ethics & Compliance Officers all around the World.

Job Description:

The job description includes:

- Develop/implement/maintain/support an effective Ethics & Compliance Program

- Monitor grievance reporting mechanism and provide requisite support in internal inquiry process

- Prepare training materials (including computer based trainings) and conduct training - internal (employees) and external (business associates)

- Develop/implement/maintain/follow-up specific initiatives for key processes of certain support functions

- Develop/maintain an awareness and communication ethics & compliance program

- Assist in policy drafting and review

- Conducting compliance risk assessments and compliance auditing & monitoring

- Work collaboratively with members across all teams in the Group (HR, Sales, Delivery, Procurement, Business Units)

- Ensure compliance with laws and company policies while supporting business

- Track current development in field of ethics & compliance

- Provide support to legal team members from other jurisdictions, where required

- Participation in trainings, development related activities and other initiatives of the Ethics & Compliance department

Skills:

- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

- Skilled in reviewing, coordinating and implementing

- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English), multicultural background would be very much appreciated

- Ability to differentiate about right and wrong while managing interests of all parties

- Ability to handle a diverse work load, multi-task and prioritize work

- Display appropriate sensitivity to the confidential nature of the work

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels

- Ability to handle a diverse multicultural and global network for whom English is not the native language

- Excellent project management skills with attention to detail, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Good drafting skills

- Flair for ethics & compliance and technology
