Our Client is one of the world's top five Executive Search Firms with offices in 38 countries across Europe/Middle East, Asia & the Americas. The firm specializes in senior level executive search, board consulting and director search, management and leadership development.
The Position:
- The position will be a member of the research team in Singapore office, reporting functionally to the Managing Partner of Singapore and operationally to a member of the Gurgaon Management Team. While reporting to the above, the Research Associate will partner with consultants in all aspects of search execution.
- He/she will focus on providing timely, informed, industry specific knowledge both on the marketplace and on key executives directly impacting the consultants- ability to win business and close client mandates.
On search assignments, the Research Associate's primary responsibilities are to:
- Research companies and individuals of interest to consultants in preparation for an assignment, and provide insight to deepen the assignment team's understanding of the background.
- Attend client briefing calls with the consultant, write up meeting notes and produce parts of the role specification
- Assist in developing the search strategy and target list of companies and provide previous relevant
assignment experience
- Use internal information to judge which candidates on our proprietary people database are relevant for the assignment
- Identify new candidates using a variety of external methods, e.g. online resources, the internet, calling companies and trade associations, referencing directories and conferences
- Contact potential candidates to update their details and where appropriate discuss their career aspirations
- Put together a relevant candidate list based on a good understanding of the brief, articulating decisions about candidates clearly and logically
- Produce documents in client ready formats during the search process
- Attend and contribute at client progress calls with the consultant
- Partner closely with the Consultant and keep him/her in the loop on new potential candidates, developments in the client organisation, market developments etc. that might impact the mandate
- Follow correct processes and ensure adherence by the Consultant/Assistant team
- Mobilise resources effectively to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high quality
- Ensure intelligence gained throughout the course of the assignment is captured in the internal database
In addition the Research Associate will support business development and knowledge management initiatives:
- Track market/client/candidate developments and disseminating this information in a targeted manner. Highlight appropriate potential business development opportunities
- Produce targeted marketing presentations outlining the Firm's experience locally and globally in selected areas
- Provide synthesised analysis of markets, competitors and compensation as required
- Proactively provide insights on industry trends and key companies
- Monitor client activity in the local market
Candidate Profile:
- The successful candidate should have a proven track record of delivering high quality research within a professional services, or corporate environment. He/she will have experience of working on international engagements. He/she will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of research methodologies and tools.
- He/she will have at least 5-6 years- experience after graduation from University. The sector focus for this individual will be Industrial and Services, however he/she will be expected to be able to learn about, and produce work on, other sectors where necessary.
- The successful candidate will be able to build close working relationships with consultants and act as a collaborative team player with all colleagues. Given this will be a remote working relationship with the Singapore team, a proven ability to build effective relationships and influence remotely is essential.
In particular, the successful candidate will have to demonstrate ability in the following competencies:

The candidate must also be able to initiate, develop and enhance relationships with all colleagues acting in all situations as an accountable team player.
