Looking for Business Analyst- Insurance with US Financial company  Location- Magarpatta, Pune  Candidates who have experience in Life insurance/Group Insurance/Disability will be preferred.  Only candidates belongs to Pune/Mumbai are preferred.  Job Description   Business Analyst + Product Owner  Description  Position Purpose:   Responsible for the participation in or leadership of; elicitation, analysis and documentation of business/technical needs on medium to large scope projects or assignments with moderate complexity. Works independently with little direction. Acts as a liaison between business partners and technical areas.  Essential Functions: In order of importance, list the essential functions (9 maximum) of this position and estimate the percentage of time spent on each (for non-officer). Note: Accountabilities transfer directly to the performance appraisal form. % of  1-4: 60%  5-7: 25%  7-10: 15%  Roles & Responsibility   1. Lead/Execute all or part of the business analysis on projects/initiatives. Provide project oversight when junior BAs are involved  2. Responsible for gathering and understanding of business needs and translating them into effective requirements. Assist in the estimation, prioritization and implementation of cost-effective business process and system solutions.  3. Effectively update and/or document system and business process changes for business and technical audiences with clarity, completeness, and specificity.  4. Manage, mentor BAs/new BAs into the organization.  5. Proactively acquire BU domain knowledge and facilitate the growth of domain knowledge throughout the technical teams. Lead or support Knowledge management initiatives  6. Develop a strong understanding of the industry & the organizational vision, mission, strategic goals  7. Identify process improvement opportunities; create and share best practices across the teams to achieve process maturity  8. Participates in the selection of new tools and methodologies; recommends and assists in determining how to implement tools and methodologies.  9. Support the project manager/delivery manager to perform cost/benefit analysis for all engaged projects.  10. Proactively develop and execute training on completed solutions or upcoming projects for business partners and technical staff.  Know-How:  1. Has performed Feasibility Analysis  2. Prior experience of working in onsite - offshore BA role  3. Exposure to IT Strategy Road Map assignments  4. Thorough knowledge of the Disability Insurance and/or Life Insurance domain in the US context; has clear understanding of one or more domain, and has published white papers  5. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts would be nice to have.  Qualifications  Experience:   Total IT Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years. Persons working on IT projects for BFSI organizations.  Total BA Experience: 3+ years of business analyst work experience in Life Insurance / Group Benefits / Disability insurance.   Domain Experience: Disability Insurance and/or Life Insurance, Group Benefits (Primary focus is on US Insurance sector)   Skill:   Technical Skill Sets:   1. Expert with proven knowledge and adept at requisnt management and the use of business analysis concepts. Eg incl. visual modeling, context and decomp diagrams, use cases etc.  2. Working experience of Agile Methodology; Product Owner Role desirable  3. Experience in working on any policy administration, claims, sales and distribution platform in Life / Disability Insurance.  Requirements Gathering and Analysis using the UML, Use Cases, Flow Charts, Stream-line diagrams, Context Diagrams, Domain Models, Sequence diagrams, etc.  3. Working knowledge of DB features, Entities & Attributes, ERD, Data dictionary, data rules and DML operations. Ability to understand conceptual, logical and physical data models.  4. Expert in documentation of complex system and business process for business and technical audiences  5. Strong ability to gain knowledge of business processes, Disability / Life Insurance products, and systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving and big-picture/conceptual.   6. Ability to embrace and understand the change process, facilitate collaboration and communication, Issue / Escalation management.  7. Effective in planning, scheduling and delegation.  Domain Skills   1. Domain experience of Life Insurance / Group Benefits / Disability insurance (Focusing on US Insurance market), having worked on IT related projects in Agile Methodology is Desirable.  Soft Skill Sets:   1. Demonstrate strong facilitation, interviewing, negotiation, motivation and conflict management skills. Excellent leadership, oral and written communication, planning and decision-making skills. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  2.
