Banyan Capital Advisors (BCA) is a growing Portfolio Management Services (PMS) firm, established in September 2011 to address the growing need of the high net worth investors all over the world to invest in the Indian capital markets on a long-term, sustainable basis. The primary focus of the firm is to invest in undervalued companies from midcap/small capitalisation universe which could potentially become large cap in the next three to five years. The fund also invests in market neutral special situation strategies like open offers and de-mergers.

Equity Research Analyst

BCA is looking to hire an Equity Research Analyst.

The role will involve day to day interactions with senior investment professionals at BCA, and conduct financial analysis and primary research on the potential equity investment opportunities including meeting senior management of publicly traded companies, channel partners and sell-side research analysts.

Candidate Profile :

- MBA from a premier institute

- Outstanding financial analysis skills

- Strong written and spoken English communication skills

- Very strong interest in Indian Capital Markets

- Ability to conduct primary and secondary research

- Strong problem solving skills

- Enjoys a high performance culture

- Motivated to work in an entrepreneurial venture

- Work experience of 2-5 years in Buy Side, Sell Side or Rating Agencies

Nature of work :

The work is similar to that in any global investment management firm. It is high on intellectual challenge and includes :

- Performing strategic analyses of industries. Industry analysis would include, for example, key trends in the industry, key players and their competitive advantages

- Benchmarking of key players main operational performance metrics

- Performing financial analysis of firms. This includes analysing operating performance, income statements, cash flows and balance sheets

- Interviewing C-level executives of publicly traded companies, conduct channel checks and liaison with sell-side research analysts

- Performing capital market analysis, such as equity market performance, liquidity analysis and valuation benchmarking

- Conducting M&A related analyses such as transaction structuring and Valuation with various methodologies such as DCF model, LBO model and trading and transaction multiple analyses

- Writing comprehensive research reports on potential stock investment opportunities

- Actively participating in investment ideas screening meetings

- Monitoring business trends and financial performance of investee companies
