Overall Job Purpose :

One Risk :

- One Risk function was formed in 2011 following the appointment of the Co-Chief Risk Officers, formerly heads of Market and Credit Risk.

- The Risk function is responsible for evaluating, monitoring and controlling Market, Credit, Contingent, Operational and Settlement Risk to ensure comprehensive and effective control and independent challenge to support the Firm in its commercial objectives.

- Risk works with business units to independently quantify the appropriate level of risk for the client, for the firm and for our shareholders, applying appropriate governance and control to ensure the right decisions are made using accurate calculation, assessment and recording of exposure and risk.

Risk, Capital & Analytics team :

- The team is responsible for providing business analysis for a range of regulatory and internal programmes.

- This is a global team with presence in New York, London and Mumbai. We are currently expanding the team in Mumbai.

- The key projects with the ASC team are in Market & Credit risk covering both regulatory work i.e. Stress testing, FRTB and also internal projects for building a strategic architecture for Credit & Market Risk.

Role Purpose :

- A new role has arisen in Mumbai enabling the team to take on more projects, and expanding the scope to work beyond minor works to strategic projects.

- The person for this role is expected to serve as Subject Matter Expert who can coach and help build the team in analytics space with a view to running more projects out of Mumbai.

- This is an Analytical Role with heavy involvement in understanding and working with measures like VaR, Expected Shortfall, EE, RWA. Working on regulatory text interpretation to understand the requirements.

- Analysing the impact of various regulations from US & UK on the systems and processes required to fulfill them.

Key Accountabilities :

- Build SME level expertise in Mumbai team

- Act as a coach for the Mumbai team with a view to taking on more substantial strategic projects

- Build expertise in Market & Credit Risk analytics space

- Understand and interpret regulations especially in relation to Stress Testing & FRTB

- Capacity to lead a team of analysts of at least 10 people who work on multiple projects and initiatives

- Produce high quality business requirements document and a capacity to monitor others with the same level of expectations

Risk and Control objective :

- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Company's Operational Risk Framework, Policies and Standards.

Person Specification :

- Subject matter expert on Market Risk/Credit risk

- Required to be currently working as a VP and leading a team of not less than 10 associates

- Currently working on regulatory projects like FRTB, FDSF, CCAR, BCBS239,etc preferred

- Understanding of different types of Market / Credit Risk charges and their computation methodologies: VaR, Expected Shortfall, Sensitivities calculation

- Understanding of financial products

- Understanding of Stress Testing

- Risk related qualification like FRM / PRM / CFA preferred

- Extensive People Management and Mentoring skills, including setting of teams objectives

- Strong team player with a track record of delivery

- Persistent, diligent and able to accept and drive forward change

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player who is able to interact across all levels of the firm

- Focused on delivery of both strategic and tactical solutions for the business

- Experience of working on strategic initiatives within a banking environment
