AVP - Product Control - Global Investment Bank

An exciting opportunity to join the Product Control team with exposure in Fixed Income, which does the review of P&L production processes.

Responsibilities :

- Daily P & L is accurately reported to the FO & reconciled between P & L tools & management reporting tools.

- Ensuring relevant P&L and Balance sheet positions are correctly reported at month ends and that the applicable reconciliations have been completed and all issues identified/resolved.

- Providing daily commentary on P&L swings and variance investigation to Front office traders and senior finance managers

- To provide advice to the business on the P&L impact of trades and the interaction of the Front and Back Office systems, especially regarding trades and proposed new workflows.

- To ensure that applicable accounting standards are adhered to regarding P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.

- Should have good experience in P&L reporting, accounting for products like equities, swaps, derivatives, fixed income, P/L Calculation, Reconciliation, FX, Credit, etc.

- Production of daily P&L for a number of trading books.

- Analyse, explain and validate P&L according to market moves, new trades and other influences.

Qualifications :

Interested candidates must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

- Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferably MBA / CA.

- Understanding of VBA, Macros

- Possess a CFA or CPA qualification an advantage.

- Product control experience.

- Auditing experience is an advantage.

- Analytical ability.

- Communication, leadership and Organisational skills.

- Accuracy and attention to detail.

- Good expertise with Excel.
