We are looking for a Head of Operations to be part of the senior team of an exciting new venture promoted / founded by a group of individuals who between them have 3 – 5 years of experience in public policy, development, economics, human rights and law.   - The venture will incubate a national level public policy championship to transform public policy dialogue by creating a feedback channel for policy makers from the student community in India – based on micro and ground level research and observations. The venture aims to place youth at the forefront of policy debates on key socio-economic issues facing the country. In the first phase, the championship programs will be planned and implemented in select cities across the nation.   Profile of an Ideal Candidate   - Aspiring candidates should demonstrate exceptional management and execution skills, be passionate about public policy questions and display a high level of creativity in designing and implementing championship programs – in effect, this should be the candidate’s dream job. The position will involve a mixed set of “execution” responsibilities including identifying strategic partners, developing championship themes, marketing the program across target groups, interfacing with government and industry leaders, and formulating support strategy and planning.   Qualifications and Key Skills Required  - The candidate must have an entrepreneurial mindset and 3+ years work experience in one or more of the following areas: consulting, event management, logistics, public relations, journalism, media, or marketing. In addition, the candidate would have the following key skills: (a) strong business and finance sense (preferably with a basic knowledge of finance); (b) a flair for ‘public policy’; and (c) exceptional writing and speaking skills.  Key Responsibilities   - Support strategy and plan for growth   - Responsible for execution of the venture’s goals  - Manage a small and energetic team  - Front marketing efforts (including development of marketing collaterals for the venture and the championship) by reaching out to – and effectively communicating with - identified stakeholders  - Support fund raising / sponsorship efforts  - Manage the finances of the entity  - Report to the CEO on assigned business plan milestones / objectives  Application Process   - We want to know why you want this job, why you are the ideal candidate, the value you would bring to the table (including your skills) and details of your background.
