Role: Associate Analyst (sector agnostic)

Our client is looking for an Associate to join their Mumbai office. You will be providing research support for one or more Sr. Analysts covering various sectors. Under the guidance of the Senior Analyst, you will gain exposure to the full research lifecycle, including analyzing financial statements, providing market research, and interacting with management and trade associations.

Additionally, you will collect data, generate financial valuations by building models and forecasts, and create competitive profiles on specific companies. The job offers excellent exposure to companies in the listed space and provides a strong career path in Sell-Side Equity research.

In this role, you will:

- Provide primary analytical support for the Senior Analyst covering the space

- Play an integral role in the research process

- Join a focused industry group and work closely with the Senior Analyst responsible for that sector

- Provide quantitative support for industry- and company-specific research and assist in the preparation of financial models, written reports, and field research

- Work in teams to cover groups of 15+ stocks

- Collect industry data and provide a level of expertise in a sector that helps clients to decide where to invest

- Develop proprietary research and distribute it to clients

- Write reports and communicate findings

- Attend company-sponsored conferences

- Interact with covered company management (CEOs, CFOs)

- Discuss research findings with Sales & Trading associates and institutional clients (e.g., analysts and portfolio managers at top mutual funds and hedge funds)

What we're looking for

- Masters degree in quantitative area such as finance, economics or mathematics desired; CA/CFA or MBA preferred

- Candidates must have a proven academic record (minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0)

- 1-3 years of relevant experience

- Possess a passion for the markets

- Have the ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis

- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills

- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
