The jobholder provides expert advice and guidance on development, implementation, and review in the areas of Performance management, Rewards, and Benefits   The jobholder plays a significant role in overseeing the development and implementation of Rewards for the GSC's and TC- s, ensuring they align with the Global guidelines, the HR policies, and the objective of GSC/TC business. The jobholder works closely with the country HR teams to develop and implement Benefit policies in GSC's and TC's - spread across entities. TC's deliver IT solutions and System support across Business competencies and technologies to the HSBC Group worldwide. The Group's expectations regarding maintenance of service quality and reduction of costs are key objectives to be achieved. Employee retention is generally an issue as most GSC- s/TC's operate in Emerging markets and HR policies and procedures in the area of performance management and reward & recognition, need to be designed, and regularly reviewed and updated to ensure GSC's are viewed as the best place to work. This needs to be done without losing sight of the Group's overall operational objective of driving down costs.  The jobholder works within defined Group and Global Service Centre/ Technology policy frameworks and has a significant role in developing and interpreting performance management, compensation and benefits policy and practice.  Specific to individual role e.g.  - Business environment/maturity  - Legal/regulatory environment  Talent market  Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)  - Awareness of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role and ensures that all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.  - Compliance with HR risk policies and standards and ensures initiatives are in accordance with Group Risk standards and policy.  - Maintain sufficient and effective processes and controls identifying and mitigating risks and ensure timely escalation and resolution of all control issues and reputation risks.  - Ensure adherence to applicable Global, regional and country standards and policies (including GSM, FIMs, and BIMs).  - Ensure 100% completion of any Risk & Compliance mandatory training.  - Treat customers fairly and with integrity.  Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)  The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures (including the HR FIM), keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.  The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term - compliance- embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.   This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Minimum requirements of the role.)  Experience in Compensation Design, Planning, program delivery and knowledge in compensation and benefits and overall human resource management  - Knowledge of the business markets and commercial dynamics; familiar with the financial and operational language  - Well rounded knowledge of financial services performance and reward practices in global organizations in areas of expertise  - Proven track record of successful support in the implementation of complex specialist initiatives   - Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory environment  - Well developed presentation skills  - High level of numerical and analytical skills  - 7-9 years of work experience directly related to Rewards and/or consulting or practice management for the countries in which the GSC- s/TC's are located. Good exposure to the India and global market will be an advantage.   - Self-starter, team player and customer service oriented with Leadership qualities/skills.   - Previous working experience working under minimal/no supervision and experience in a similar Management role.
