Assistant Manager - Strategic Sourcing - Elevator Industry

- Lead projects for supplier development, improve quality levels, educate and assist suppliers to improve process to reduce costs.

- Evaluate suppliers and lead in negotiation and other commercial terms.

- Facilitate make / buy decisions. Coordination between suppliers, engineering, Quality and marketing during the development process of components.

- A lead role in costs reduction project.

- Analysis of data and prepare reports on supplier performance, inventory details and cost information for taking corrective action.

- Lead role in addressing reliability issues through a cross-functional team approach from the materials function.

- Identify suppliers whose performance is low on quality and delivery. Develop an exit plan for overall low performing suppliers.

- Direct suppliers process audits.

- Implement supplier Gold program at supplier facilities. Consolidate suppliers by having a lean supplier base for optimizing costs and accessing core competencies.

- Responsibly for implementing supplier Gold Program.

- Good in production part approval Process, Advance Product Quality planning & responsible for supplier PPM.

- Identify potential supplier, gather information, prepare RFQs and obtain quotes.

- Estimate component costs using cost estimation sheets and compare with the quotes.

- Conduct an Initial assessment of potential suppliers.

- Follow EH&S rules & regulations of implement EH&S programs & activates.

- Possess a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering from a reputed institution. Post-graduation will be an added advantage.

- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the Sourcing Department of a large scale engineering industry.

- Good leadership quality, Interpersonal skills & Negotiation skill.

- Must have strong purchasing Technical background.

- Must process good communication skills.

- Should possess project management skills, supplier development skills, and knowledge of manufacturing processes and government taxes & duties including import duties.
