Job Description :

Position : Data Engineer - Asst Manager

Client : Analytics firm in Bangalore

Skill Set Snapshot : Big Data Hadoop + NoSQL Databases + Strong JAVA Programming

Experience : 4 - 8 years of experience.

Location : Bangalore

Job Responsibilities :

- Define the big data roadmap for the group and work with the vendors and IT team to build a big data foundational platform.

- Create, enhance and maintain data capabilities on big data environment.

- Execute rapid prototyping especially in the space of BIG Data and NoSQL solutions

- Data/Solution design & implementation according to best practices (SQL and NoSQL)

- Handle manipulation of large datasets on Hadoop to ensure faster and easier data analysis.

- Deal with multiple structured & unstructured data along with massive click stream, operational data and finally design data structures on Hadoop for quick business consumption.

- Understand business objectives, convert it to data requirements & technical needs and get it implemented by technology partners.

Required Qualification :

- 3-5 years of experience in big data - Hadoop, data management & business intelligence.

- Advanced degree in computer science, IT or management from premium institutes

- Strong Java Programming skills including latest development frameworks.

- Expert on Hadoop Architecture having knowledge on Hadoop, Map Reduce, No SQL Hbase, Hive, Pig, Unix etc.

- Familiarity in setting up Hadoop ecosystem with either of the 3 vendors - Hortonworks, MapR or Cloudera.

- Strong SQL programming skills and experience with Unix file manipulation utilities and experience in driving automation

- Worked on huge data handling projects and setup data solutions using Hadoop based databases able to handle terabytes / petabytes of data.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and a tremendous will to win

- Good project management, and organizational skills (ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines)

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Passion for working in a Startup environment and enthusiastic for building big data ecosystem from ground zero.

Education : Bachelors from Engineering discipline.
