Amazon - Business Analyst

- The Amazon Devices India Team is looking for a passionate and solution oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to run analytical solutions that deepen our collective understanding of customers, influence innovation, and deliver actionable insights.

 - The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, a restlessness to answer - why? questions, excellent technical skills, analytical abilities, and superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. You will be comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with the Marketing and Engagement teams, Finance, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Data Engineers across the global Amazon Devices organization.

- In this role, you will be able to stretch your technical and analytical skills in developing BI frameworks, large database architecture, reporting tools and dashboards needed to provide key performance indicators and insights for Amazon devices business in India, including Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Accessories. Your work will have a direct impact on the day-to-day decision making and operational planning processes within the Devices organization. The successful candidate will be skilled at analyzing data, identifying trends, extracting conclusions, and presenting findings in a simple and clear manner

Key responsibilities:

- Publish weekly metrics and analytics in order for business teams to take proactive actions on behalf of our customers

- Identify customer segments for different merchanidizing campaigns and analyze the campaign performance

- Own analytic tools, BI models and visualizations to increase visibility into key measures of business performance

- Degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Business Informatics, Statistics)

- 4+ years of professional experience in data modeling and business analytics

- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Excel, and ETL. Experience with efficient processing of large data sets. Familiarity with columnar databases like Redshift or Vertica; Understand database optimization

- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload

- Track record of managing metrics and improving performance with clients

- Ability to work with effectively with remote global Business Intelligence teams

- Ability to distill problems and constraints from informal business requirements and to be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and craft analytical approaches to solving problems

- Expert understanding of best practices to handle extremely large volume of data

- Experience in machine learning/predictive modeling/statistics/econometrics

- Experience analyzing data with strong statistical, quantitative modeling, and forecasting skills

- Experience of any visualization tool like Tableau/Qlikview/Quicksight

- Experience with Big Data solutions as well as other AWS solutions such as Athena, Redshift, S3 and QuickSight
