Role. - Zonal Legal Manager (10+ Yrs)

Job Location - Mumbai

Profile - Litigation

a) Job Description -

1. Knowledge & Experience -

(i) Specific exposure to Recovery Cases (including Section 138 matters) and MACT (Motor Accident Claim Tribunal) Matters

(ii) Experience in handling volumes.

(iii) Knowledge and exposure to Civil, Criminal and Consumer Litigation

2. Advisory Role -

(iv) Guide and advice Business Team in relation to appropriate action to be taken on review and analysis of data/facts provided by Business.

3. Drafting &/or Vetting & Providing Valuable Inputs -

(v) Legal Notices and Replies to Legal Notices.

(vi) Legal documents such as Plaints, Written Statements, Affidavits, Writ Petitions etc.

(vii) Provide valuable inputs to Advocates/Law Firms/Subordinate Team Members based on factual and legal knowledge and understanding of the Company's business and processes.

4. Attend Court Hearings, Brief Advocates &Counsels -

(viii) Attend hearings before various authorities and forums which would include travelling outstation.

(ix) Brief Counsels and attend conferences providing valuable inputs on facts and law.

(x) Organize meetings between Business Team and Advocates/Law Firms/Counsels for effective dissemination of facts and processes where necessary.

5. Monitoring Cases/MIS

(xi) Overall monitor cases in different cities and handle the volume of cases.

(xii) Updation of all cases and notices on the in-house Litigation Management System.

(i) Report Generation -

(xiii) Providing necessary Reports as per Company norms to the Board and /or various authorities as and when required. Monitoring the activity and ensuring the completion of activity within designated timelines if done by a reportee.

(xiv) Be responsible to set principles and rules for provisioning for litigation matters in the books of accounts.
