Zonal Head - Retail Operations - Logistics (10-20 yrs)
Zonal Head South Operations
Responsible for the overall operations, PnL, security, and assistance in BD & Sales for the Zone assigned to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
STRATEGIC :
- Chart out strategy for the Zone in consultation with the senior management and manage effective execution of the same
- Understand the market trends and provide inputs to the management on value proposition and offerings to prospective clients
- Guide and lead Area Managers for effective operations and profitability of business in the Area
- Ensure clear definition of scope, goals, deliverables, project tasks, resource requirements and SLAs for all support functions
- Coordinate with Business Development Managers for market penetration, acquiring potential business and closing the deals
- Maintain good relationships with the clients in the Zone
- Manage effective operations functioning in the Zone as per laid down norms for Operations (Route planning, TAT's etc.)
- Ensure compliance and adherence to agreed SLAs with clients
- Ensure thorough resolutions of shortages in the Zone and strategize to minimize shortage cases
- Ensure adherence and implementation of standardized operating procedures in the Zone
- Ensue profitability of the zones and business development in all the Areas
- Ensure minimum risk and security leakages in the Zone; work towards making the assigned Zone secure and free of risk-based losses
OPERATIONAL :
- Facilitate analysis and innovative solutioning to operational issues in the Zone for e.g. suggesting expansion, resource re-distribution, technological intervention etc.
- Ensure thorough monitoring and control over the zonal operations to minimize penalties in the Zone
- Monitor performance of the zone on a regular basis and take decisions in the interest of the zone's performance in consultation with senior management
- Drive & encourage performance oriented culture in the Zone towards achievement of strategic goals
- Coordinate with BD & Sales team to ensure resolution of service delivery related challenges in the Zone
- Ensure good infrastructure and safety of the all the branch and its personnel in the Zone
- Coordinate with HR and ensure effective people management, training and development, and retention of the employees in the Zone
- Ensure preparation of periodic reports and MIS on Zone performance along with analysis and share with respective stakeholders; builds strategy to manage the same
- Liaise with local regulatory authorities for fulfilling statutory requirements related to Zone
- Set, monitor and give inputs regarding benchmarks, performance criteria and process improvements
FINANCIAL:
- Manage PnL responsibility of the Zone; delivery AOP as budgeted; mange budget, resource allocation and schedules
- Manage the Zone operations profitably and meet EBITA targets
CUSTOMER :
- Participate in customer meetings (retail/MSP) on case to case basis with sales team on service delivery satisfaction, SLA fulfilment and unjustified penalties
- Participate in meetings for potential business deal with Business Development team
QUALIFICATION :
Graduation : Any specialization
Post Graduation : MBA/PGDM in Operations or similar
EXPERIENCE : 10 -15 years of relevant experience (depending upon scale of Zone) in operations of retail / logistics / cash management etc. equivalent to managing a state
