We, at Zolo (www.zolostays.com), are looking for a motivated and dynamic candidate who can spearhead our expansion into multiple new cities. Our ideal candidate comes with 3-5 years of experience in consulting or business development or field sales in the context of retail expansion, real estate, hotels or hospitality industries. He/She is expected to play and end to end role in evaluation of new cities for expansion including assessment or market demand, supply availability, and running discussions with suppliers to initiate new market entries. He/She would work closely with the top management at Zolo (National Head of Supply) and play a critical role in future expansion plays for Zolo to new cities / towns. We are currently present in Bangalore, Pune, Kota, Gurgaon, and Chennai and fast expanding to other geographies. Founded by alumni of IIM, IIT, AIIMS, ISB, we are at a team size of 250+. Our managed living solutions are looking to elevate the traditional paying guest accommodations / service apartments / hostels, and offer all kinds of basic and luxury living amenities with a promise of high quality. Some of the prominent features include fully furnished rooms, hygienic and healthy food, daily housekeeping, internet facilities, security etc. We do this while creating an engaging and fun community at our living spaces which is our big differentiator. The aim is to provide a completely hassle-free living experience to working professionals, students etc. which is unique and fun. We are now looking to deepen presence in our existing markets, increase our portfolio of products as well as tap into the potential of more emerging cities. Details of role and key responsibilities: 1. Assessment of new city / cluster demand potential: - Mapping demand clusters in a new geography in terms of different customer segments (working professionals, students, male / female, high end / low end), along with specific demand centers (large Tech / IT parks, SEZs, universities / colleges / institutes, large Corporate offices, etc.) and understanding of dynamics of demand in those geographies. Involves both online / desk research as well as field surveys and meetings. 2. Assessment of new city / cluster supply structure: - Mapping existing properties / supply in target geographies, type of supply, quantity of existing supply and demand supply-gap, nature and pricing of supply, key dynamics of existing supply and potential list of suppliers to target. Involves both online / desk research as well as field surveys and meetings. 3. Initiating conversations / liaisoning with potential suppliers: - Meeting property owners / suppliers in target markets to assess on-ground acquisition potential, co-ordination between central top management and city teams on specific acquisition cases, in depth. 4. Supporting city teams in setting up / stabilization: - Working closely with new city teams to ensure smooth setup of operations, ensuring Zolo standard operating procedures on business development are understood and followed by the new city teams, supporting them in the initial stages for further growth More about the role requirements: 1. Key Skillsets:- Strong skills required with spreadsheets (MS-Excel), numerical assessment, analytical&nbsp;problem solving, data collection and assessment, ability to independently meet and represent Zolo with property owners and large builders / developers. 2. Prior Experience: - Candidates with 3-5 years of experience in business development or field sales in the context of retail expansion, real estate, hotels or hospitality can apply. 3. Prior Consulting experience: - At least 2 years of experience at a Tier-I / Big 4 consulting firm would be strongly preferred 4. Educational Background:- Tier I MBA institutes / Engineering would be given strong preference 5. Location:- Bangalore (HO), with frequent travel 6.
